Google Maps API

First of all, what is an API?  API stands for Application Programming Interface. It is a set of functions, procedures, methods or classes that an operating system, library or service provides to support requests made by computer programs.  The Google Maps API lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages with JavaScript. The API provides a number of utilities for manipulating maps and adding content to the map through a variety of services, allowing you to create robust map applications on your website.
